Today I’m sharing my review of Local Woman Missing by Mary Kubica.
Synopsis
Shelby Tebow is the first to go missing. Not long after, Meredith Dickey and her six-year-old daughter, Delilah, vanish just blocks away from where Shelby was last seen, striking fear into their once-peaceful community. Are these incidents connected? After an elusive search that yields more questions than answers, the case eventually goes cold.
Now, eleven years later, Delilah shockingly returns. Everyone wants to know what happened to her, but no one is prepared for what they’ll find…
In this smart and chilling thriller, master of suspense and New York Times bestselling author Mary Kubica takes domestic secrets to a whole new level, showing that some people will stop at nothing to keep the truth buried.

My Thoughts
One of my favorite thrillers of the year! I couldn’t stop listening to the audiobook. The story is told from different perspectives and timelines which I really like. This is a dark and twisty kind of book which I think its perfect for the fall (even thou I included this on in my summer guide I think it would be great for fall too!). I recommended this book to my husband and he loved it as well.
This book gave me vibes of the tv show Cruel Summer. It is not the same as the tv show but it is a similar vibe. I listened to this audiobook right after I was done with that TV show and it filled that void for me. Maybe that is why I liked it so much. If you like that tv show you’ll love this book.
I did not see the twist at the end coming at all. As you know that is a key element of a mystery/thriller book and this book delivered. I know a lot of people say its too out there of an ending but it actually worked for me. If you’ve read it let me know what you think!
