Book ratings are very subjective, so here is my rating system. I use a 5 star rating scale for fiction books and a more descriptive way for non-fiction books.
Fiction Books
5 Stars – An absolutely amazing book! I loved it, it is a book that will stay with me for a long time. I loved the characters, the story was unique and it is a book I would re-read. A must read!
4 Stars – An excellent book. There may be 1-2 things that would keep me from calling it amazing but it didn’t take away from the overall story. Definitely recommend it!
3 Stars – I liked it, however it’s not a book I think you must read. It’s a book that either it’s not for everyone, was lacking something for me to connect with or I had some issues with. A book I probably wouldn’t read again.
2 Stars – I liked it enough to finish it but I don’t recommend it.
DNF – Did not finish. If Im about 100 pages in and I am not into the book I’ll put it down. There’s no time for bad books!
Non-Fiction Books
Read NOW – This is a book that I think everyone should read. It is has an important message and I loved everything about it.
Read – I recommend this book and I really enjoyed it. This is a book I’m glad I read.
Did not resonate with me – This book was not for me but I think others would find it interesting or would relate better to it.
I hope this is helpful as you read my book reviews!
