What I read in January 2020

What a great start to the year! I read a total of 6 books in January which is a lot considering that it is the busiest month at work, I was house hunting and planning a wedding!

Here is what I read:

Long Bright River – This was one of my Book of the Month picks for December and I also had the audiobook. I listened to the audiobook and I loved the narration and the story. Rating – 4 stars

Red, White & Royal Blue – This was my book club pick for the month and it was one of those books that I read at the right time. I needed something lighter and happy and this book delivered! Rating – 4 stars

Saint X – I listened to the audiobook and I was disappointed because this book is not a thriller and I was expecting that. Rating – 2 stars

A Good Neighborhood – There are so many topics for discussion in this book. I recommend this for a book club discussion. Rating – 4 stars

The Nightingale – This was my favorite book I read this month! I dont know why I waited so long to read it. It is amazing. Check out my review here. Rating – 5 stars

American Dirt – There has been a lot of talk about this book. I read it before the controversy (google it!) started. I liked it and I am now planning on reading more books about immigration but from the perspective of mexican immigrants. This book and the conversation around it has made me want to learn more.

What was your favorite book you read this month? Let me know in the comments!
