What I read in November 2020. This is the shortest reading recap I have done to date. I considered not even doing one but here it goes! I read 2 books and they were both audiobooks. This is the first month in a while I haven’t been able to finish a physical book and that’s ok! So many things going on in November and I had no time to focus on reading.

- Favorite Book I read this month – Know my name
Group by Christie Tate
I found this book fascinating! This book is a memoir, it is the author’s story and her experience with group therapy. The author goes into details about her life and how the group therapy helped her heal and get to where she is at now. I am glad this is another book that normalizes talking about therapy. This book is very honest and raw. Christie lets it all out there including her anxiety, her relationship with food and others. At times I cringed because I felt I shouldn’t be privy to some of the details. However, that is why this memoir is captivating, we get to see her grow throughout and understand her experience and process. I don’t agree with some of her actions but I am not here to judge her experience but to listen to it. This is a great book to read with a book club.

Know my name by Chanel Miller
This is an important book and one I think everyone should read! I am so glad I finally read it and I am glad I listened to it in audio. The book is narrated by the author and it is amazing. Chanel Miller describes the sexual assault she experienced along with the injustices she faced in the criminal justice system. The subject and story was tough to hear at times and there are many trigger warnings. This is a story that will stay with me for a long time.

I’m glad you still posted this month! The ebbs and flows of reading are something I struggle with, but progress is progress and should be celebrated!
