What I’ve Read in 2022 so far

Books I read in 2022

I’m back! I took a little unplanned break from the blog and my Instagram page for the first three months of the year. Lots of things going on personally during that time so reading and blogging wasn’t a priority. Now I have some time to focus on my hobbies so looking forward to reading more and sharing what I’m reading with you all. Today I want to share the books I’ve read so far in 2022!

Reading Stats

  • Total Books Read – 5 (a lot of alternating between physical books and audiobooks)
  • Pages Read – 962
  • Audio book Total hours listened – 20
  • Favorite Book  – The Husbands

Wish you were here

Wish You Were Here by Jodi Picoult

I have read a few Jodi Picoult books and I’ve enjoyed them. This book was highly recommended by a few sources so I was excited to read it. The story is set during Covid times and it is very much about Covid. I wasn’t sure if I was ready to read a book set in 2020-2021 but surprisingly I was. I think the author did a great job portraying the time period and you can tell a lot of research went into it. I recommend this book!

Lucky by Marissa Stapley

Lucky by Marissa Stapley

I picked up this book at the end of last year hoping to finish it that month since it is a short book. Little did I know it would take me over a month to read it. This was the time when I couldn’t focus on reading at all, I would read a page and put the book down. I was enjoying the book I just couldn’t focus on reading at that time. This book is short, fast pace and fun. It was a Reese’s Book Club pick last year and I recommend it.

Cultish

Cultish by Amanda Montell

This book was all over bookstagram last year and it sounded so interesting. I listened to the audiobook and really enjoyed the narration. It is fascinating and I found myself looking up and deep diving into certain of the “cults” mentioned. I don’t think it “wowed” me but I found it interesting.

All her little secrets

All Her Little Secrets by Wanda M. Morris

This was my book club’s pick for February. We picked it because it is a thriller set in Atlanta written by a Black author. The premise was interesting, it had potential but to me the delivery wasn’t as good. I enjoyed reading about the locations in Atlanta, getting to know the main character and the pace. However, the book felt overly descriptive and there were some plot holes. We had a good discussion at book club but overall I think it was a good book but not too memorable. I also didn’t enjoy the audiobook narration, if you decide to read it read the physical book.

Format – Physical Book (alternated with the audiobook)

The Husbands

The Husbands by Chandler Baker

My favorite book I’ve read so far this year! This was my book club’s pick for March and we had a great discussion. I don’t know where to place this book gender wise and I think that makes it a polarizing book. I LOVED it and I now want to be best friend’s with Chandler Baker. When I first started reading the book it made me mad and I had to take breaks from reading it but besides that I found it very interesting. I definitely recommend this book for a book club, you’ll have lots of things to discuss.

Format – Physical Book (alternated with the audiobook)

Rating – 5 Stars.
